| Great Beginnings Course Description: This introductory course provides an overview of information that adults should understand before working with young children. Topics covered: developmental stages, age appropriate activities for children, positive guidance and discipline, fostering children’s self-esteem, health and safety practices, positive interaction with children, supervision, and detection and reporting of suspected child abuse and neglect. See the course topics listed below for more information on what is covered. Attention Texas Students: this course may be used towards the Texas Pre-Service requirement. The course fee entitles one person to receive the clock hours (and CEUs for CDA renewal) granted by this course (assuming you pass each lesson/chapter with a 70% or better). Once you have completed the course and mailed (electronic courses may be faxed) in your answers to us, you can expect to receive your certificate within 1-3 weeks (depending on the grading option you choose).
