Learn how toddlers grow and develop and how to create an environment that will promote their physical, cognitive, language, emotional, and social development. Section on toilet training and suggestions for age-appropriate toys and play equipment included.

Chapter titles: Physical Development; Cognitive Development and Language Development; Emotional and Social Development; Creating a High Quality Environment for Toddlers

Clock hours may be broken down as follows:

8 hours in child development

2 hours in language development

1 hour in positive guidance

4 hours in curriculum development

1 hour in relationships with parents

1 hour in managing an effective early childhood program

2 hours in safety

1 hour in health/nutrition

(6 hours in teacher/child interaction - these hours overlap with guidance, curriculum, language development, and child growth and development)
