Where do I get an Enrollment Code? Enrollment Codes are delivered when you order a course. By email for PDF-Courses, and included inside your book for CourseBook courses.

How can I take a course if I don't want to do them online? Order a CourseBook. CourseBook quizzes can be mailed or faxed to Care Courses. Click here for Mailed/Faxed quiz instructions.

I ordered a course before February 14, 2012, and my code doesn't work online. Courses ordered before February 14, 2012 must be submitted by fax or mail. We are sorry to report that those codes do not work in the new system.

I need my assistant to take a course, but I am paying for it. You may order courses for as many students as you wish, but please make sure you give the courses to them to do. They must do their own work, and if they use the Online Grading system, they MUST activate the enrollment code in their own personal online account.

How long are these prices effective? Until December 31, 2012. We may add new courses, but we won’t change the prices during this time.

What is a CEU? "Continuing Education Units" are required to renew a CDA.

Are the courses accepted by the state for my annual clock hour requirements? It depends on which state you are in. Every state is different (and in Minnesota for family caregivers every county is different.) Please click here for details.

How long before I get my order? PDF and Online Courses are delivered immediately. For CourseBook orders: Depending on how you pay (phone, fax, internet, mail, credit card, PayPal, check, money order), what shipping&handling you choose (Free Standard, Priority Handling, Express) and how far you live from Washington DC (we are located in a suburb of DC), it normally takes from 2 days to 3 weeks. If you think an order has gotten lost in the mail, please call us. We would never intentionally disappoint you. If you are in a hurry, please call us and place a credit card order and ask for Priority handling which is a $10.99 charge on $200 or less.

How do the courses work? You read the course material, do Self Check exercises, and then complete and submit Lesson Quizzes. You must make a passing score of at least 70% on each lesson to receive the clock hours. We cannot issue partial clock hours for a course. We issue a certificate documenting the hours you have earned and return it with your graded work. (You may redo the quizzes one time if you score lower than 70%. Failure to receive a passing score on all lessons the second submission will result in no certificate.) Information on our different formats can be found here: Course Formats

Do you accept checks/money orders? Yes, please print an order form to mail with your payment.

Do Care Courses work on a Mac? Yes, all courses work on Macs and PCs. We have a Mac instruction page for the PDF courses if you're having trouble.

How long do I have to complete my coursework? As long as you need. We have no time limits (although your state licensing agent may!) Online quizzes are typically graded within 2 business days of submission. Mailed quizzes are typically graded within 10 business days of the day we receive them. Please consider using our Rush Grading options if you are in a hurry and mail or fax your work.

I need someone else to access my course information: Please print, sign and fax this authorization form to us so we can speak with them about your account. We do not recommend giving your account login information to anyone.

I don’t need 25 clock hours. Why do many of the courses offer so many clock hours? We try to cover a topic in depth each time we write a course. Sometimes this results in a longer course than other times. That is one reason why the prices are about the same for all the courses. We want everyone to be able to take the courses they are interested in regardless of clock hours or cost. Don’t worry if you get more hours than you need!
