Connecticut State Requirements: We have not yet ascertained if our courses are accepted for annual continuing education requirements for day care center staff.  Connecticut has written in their requirements for center staff:

"Continuing education for program staff shall be required for one (1) per cent of the total annual hours worked.  Such education may include early childhood education and child development, licensing and regulations, health issues, nutrition, first aid, social services and child abuse laws.

(1)        The operator of the child day care center or group day care home shall develop, implement and maintain a written plan for continuing education in child care.

(2)        The operator shall have documentation of continuing education as defined in section 19a-79-1a of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies for each staff member which shall be maintained and made available for review."

For those of you interested in starting a day care or home-based child care facility in Connecticut, please contact your state licensing using the contact information below.  The licensing agency should be able to give you advice on the requirements, rules and regulations of your state.
