Georgia Bright from the Start (BFTS) regulations allow
caregivers to count no more than 6 clock hours from any one course toward
their annual training requirement. You will notice in our course list that
some of our courses grant more than 6 clock hours. However, these courses
are approved by the Georgia BFTS for only 6 clock hours for the Georgia
annual training requirement. If you are using one of these courses to get
or renew a CDA or CCP (or NAC) credential, you may use all of the clock hours.
Georgia-specific certificates for courses that offer more than 6 clock
hours will indicate both the number of hours approved for Georgia annual
training and the number of hours you can use for other purposes.
For those of you
interested in starting a day care or home-based child care
facility in
Georgia, please contact
your state licensing using the contact information below. The
licensing agency should be able to give you advice on the requirements, rules
and regulations of your state.
