National Organizations
NAEYC
- The National Association for the Education of Young Children:
Dedicated to improving the well-being of all young children, with
particular focus on the quality of educational and developmental
services for all children from birth through age 8. NAEYC is committed
to becoming an increasingly high performing and inclusive organization.
Founded in 1926, NAEYC is the world's largest organization working on
behalf of young children with nearly 100,000 members, a national network
of over 300 local, state, and regional Affiliates, and a growing global
alliance of like-minded organizations. Membership is open to all
individuals who share a desire to serve and act on behalf of the needs
and rights of all young children.
NCCIC
- The National Child Care Information and Technical Assistance Center:
A service of the Child Care Bureau, is a national clearinghouse and
technical assistance (TA) center that provides comprehensive child care
information resources and TA services to Child Care and Development Fund
(CCDF) Administrators and other key stakeholders.
NACCP - National Association of
Child Care Professionals: The organization's goal
is to improve, enhance and strengthen the credibility of the people who lead the
child care industry by providing membership services and benefits. NACCP is the
only association exclusively dedicated to child care management without regard
to a center's tax status and corporate sponsorship.
NACCRRA - The National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral
Agencies: Our nation’s leading voice for child care. The NACCRRA work
with more than 800 state and local Child Care Resource & Referral
agencies to ensure that families in every local community have access to
high-quality, affordable child care. To achieve this mission, they lead
projects that increase the quality and availability of child care, offer
comprehensive training to child care professionals, undertake research,
and advocate child care policies that positively impact the lives of
children and families.

Development Institute
NICHCY - National Information
Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities. Clearinghouse for
information and resources related to disabilities. Database of
disability-related agencies, fact-sheets, and other publications.
NIH
SIDS site - Site of the NIH Institute of Child Health
and Human Development. Information and downloadable brochures in English
and Spanish on the "Back to Sleep" campaign and preventing SIDS.
CDA Information
Council
for Professional Recognition -
This is the organization awarding CDAs. A Child
Development Associate (CDA) is an individual who has successfully completed a
CDA assessment and has been awarded the CDA Credential. S/he is able to meet the
specific needs of children and works with parents and other adults to nurture
children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth in a child
development framework.
Early Childhood CDA Help

- Site of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. Extensive

- Parents may search for child care for free and
Child Care Providers may list their services for a small fee. They both can
research topics about things relating to what's most important to them, their
children.

KidsHealth, a project of the Nemours Foundation Center for Children’s
Health Media. Contains extensive family-oriented health information
about children from pre-birth through adolescence, including signs and
symptoms of illnesses, child behavior, growth and development, nutrition
and fitness, and parenting tips.
Red Leaf Institute - Site of
the Redleaf National Institute, a nonprofit organization devoted to
helping providers with the business aspects of their programs. Contains
numerous articles on program management, record-keeping and taxes,
developing service contracts, and a wide range of related topics.
