If you wish to become a director of a child care facility in Texas, you must first speak with a Texas child care licensing representative to determine what training you are required to have. Your training requirement will be based on two things: (1) the state’s current training requirements for directors, and (2) any training you have had in the past that you may be given credit for. Only a Texas licensing agent can give you this information. Texas Director Qualification requires training in child development and also in management. We recommend the following sets of courses in each of these areas. If you need fewer than 150 clock hours of training in either child development or management, select only the courses you need from the following lists. If you need more than 150 clock hours in either child development or management, please send an email explaining your needs to: clairece@carecourses.com
