Visiting Families in Their Homes Course Description:
This course is intended for home visitors, not child care providers, and may not meet state training requirements for early childhood professionals. This course focuses on principles that guide home visiting programs; qualifications, characteristics, skills and techniques essential for successful home visitors; strategies to manage effective home visitor programs; and professionalism and ethical practices for home visitors. See the course topics listed below for more information on what is covered.
This course is different from many of our courses because it requires two books. You must read both the coursebook, Visiting Families in Their Homes, and a textbook, Home Visiting: Procedures for Helping Families, 2nd Edition. (This textbook is included.)
Learning Outcomes: After completing Visiting Families in Their Homes you will learn how the ecological theory of human development relates to working with families; the basic principles of family systems theory and why an understanding of family systems is important when working with families; and the role of cognitive processes in influencing behaviors and feelings. Read More.
