Learn the goals of early education for children with special needs, the characteristics of common physical disabilities, how various disabilities affect children's ability to function, and curriculum adaptations to meet the needs of children with physical disabilities and help them develop and learn. After completing this course, you will be able to:
- explain the purpose, content, and function of early intervention service plans
- identify the goals of early education for children with special needs
- describe signs that young children’s development is not progressing normally and report your observations to parents
- describe the symptoms of major physical disabilities
- explain ways to provide appropriate care for children with various physical disabilities
- identify and describe symptoms that signal possible problems associated with various physical impairments and share these observations with parents
- list appropriate goals for your early childhood program
- construct specific teaching guidelines and methods to meet the needs of each child with physical disabilities
- explain ways to adapt your curriculum to meet the needs of each child with physical disabilities

You will be given a second chance to make 70% or better. Should you fail to do so, you will receive a letter indicating that you did not pass the course and may not retake the course for 12 months.
Clock hours and CEUs are documented on original Care Courses certificates of completion mailed through the US Post Office. All course formats receive an original mailed certificate. Once you have completed a course and submitted your answers to us you can expect to receive your certificate within 10 business days (depending on the grading & certificate option you choose).
