Safe Spaces in Child Care Course Description: 

Written for all childcare facilities and homes, this course teaches you how to provide the safest indoor and outdoor spaces possible to protect children’s health and well-being. Content includes steps to take to reduce hazards in children’s environments and guidance on how to actively supervise children at all times. Learning Outcomes: After completing Safe Spaces in Child Care you will be able to explain child care providers’ responsibility to ensure the safety of the indoor and outdoor spaces occupied by the children in their care; explain the importance of active adult supervision of children in creating a safe child care environment; identify ways to protect children from hazards that can cause bodily injury, such as water, poisons and toxins, hazardous waste, unstable furniture, faulty electrical appliances, and vehicular traffic; and describe the characteristics of safe indoor and outdoor spaces for children.

Care Courses offers over 60 professional development courses and one non-credit training tutorial on the CDA process. All courses offer clock hours and an official mailed certificate of completion. The CDA tutorial does not offer clock hours or a certificate.

Care Courses' course tuition entitles one person to receive the clock hours granted by a course upon successful completion.  Bundle pricing covers tuition for all the courses included in a bundle.

To receive the CEUs and Clock Hours for a course, you must follow directions on written assignments and show comprehension of the course content. You must make 70% or better on all course quizzes. Less than 70% will result in trainer review and evaluation. If review indicates the need for discussion, you will be informed that you must speak with a trainer. You will be given a second chance to make 70% or better. Should you fail to do so, you will receive a letter indicating that you did not pass the course and may not retake the course for 12 months.

Clock hours and CEUs are documented on original Care Courses certificates of completion mailed through the US Post Office. All course formats receive an original mailed certificate. Once you have completed a course and submitted your answers to us you can expect to receive your certificate within 10 business days (depending on the grading & certificate option you choose).
