Sanitation for Disease Prevention in Early Childhood Programs Course Description:
Created for all child care facilities and homes, this course will teach you how to provide a clean, sanitary environment to protect children's health. Includes sections on hand washing; Standard (Universal) Precautions; diapering, toileting, and personal care procedures; keeping play space, toys, and equipment sanitary; and sanitation in food preparation, storage, and equipment. Learning Outcomes: After completing Sanitation for Disease Prevention in Early Childhood Programs you will be able to explain the importance of sanitation for disease prevention; identify places where disease-causing germs thrive; describe sanitary handwashing procedures; describe a healthy and safe diaper-changing method; describe procedures for keeping children’s space, toys, and equipment sanitary; describe sanitation procedures for food service areas, utensils, and equipment; describe sanitation procedures for food selection, storage, and preparation.
