Delaware child care providers may use our courses toward a CDA as well as CDA, NAC and CCP renewal.
Delaware Childcare Training Requirements
All Care Courses (with the exception of Medication Procedures in Child Care) are accepted by the Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families Office of Child
Care Licensing towards the annual training requirement for those who work in early care and education centers,
school-age centers, family child care homes, large family child care homes, and residential child care facilities.
This includes clock hours for chief administrators, direct care supervisors, direct care workers, volunteers,
owners, early childhood administrators, early childhood curriculum coordinators, early childhood teachers, early
childhood assistant teachers, licensees, large family child care assistants and caregivers.
The Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing requires that all child care providers complete professional
development annually in at least three of the following eight core areas of training:

Developmental Curriculum Planning/Environment and Curriculum

Observation and Assessment

Positive Behavior Management/Social-Emotional Development

Health, Safety, Physical Activity, and Nutrition

Training in Early Care and Education (TECE 1 and 2) is a comprehensive program that prepares early childhood
educators to support children birth to five in early childhood classrooms. As a CDA Gold Standard training
provider, Care Courses can be used to fulfill TECE 1 and 2 requirements toward obtaining the
Delaware First early childhood educator certification.
