Florida Childcare Training Requirements and FCCPC

All Care Courses are accepted by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) towards the 10 clock hours (or 1 CEU) of in-service childcare training required for those who work in family child care homes, large family child care homes and child care facilities/centers. This includes DCF training for directors, employees, operators, providers and substitutes.

Florida Staff Credential Training and FCCPC Renewal Training

All Care Courses are accepted for the 4.5 CEUs needed to renew the Florida Staff Credentials and FCCPC Credential. This includes renewing your FCCPC Credential, CDA Credential, Florida Birth through Five Child Care Credential, the Florida School Age Child Care Credential, and the Florida Director’s Credential. Care Courses is an IACET-authorized CEU Provider and all of our courses offer IACET CEUs.

Using Care Courses to obtain a National CDA Credential qualifies you for the Florida Child Care Staff Credential. A National CDA is equivalent to the Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC) when applying for a Florida Staff Credential.

Once you obtain your National CDA, you may use Care Courses' discounted CDA renewal sets to renew your CDA and Florida Staff Credential. Florida DCF defines the National CDA as a National Early Childhood Credential (NECC).

What our Florida students say

"As always, my care course arrived promptly. I am so grateful for these courses. I used Care Courses to attain my CDA initially, and for three consecutive renewals. I look forward to future courses as well. They are well written and informative.”

"Everything went well with the book courses. I really like the convenience of ordering the books and taking my time to read and answer the test questions. I can take the book to work, to the gym, anywhere. The turn-around time for my certificates was awesome. I will encourage anyone to take Care Courses."

- Plant City, Florida

"The course I took, Toddlers in Child Care , was very thorough. The fourth section really was stuffed with information - I know I'll be referring to it time and again. I was highly impressed with the information presented, both the quantity and the quality. Some of the suggestions in the course, such as having some sort of steps for toddlers to practice on and assigning tasks for the kids to be able to participate at mealtime, are already being implemented into my program. I ordered the PDF version of the class but found that I had to print it out anyway. I wanted to add notes and printing it also made it easier to read. In the future I'd probably just go ahead and order the printed version. Not a criticism at all, just a suggestion for future students. Also, the turnaround time getting the test results was really quick. I sent in my answers and did not pay extra to get the results quickly, and still they arrived in no time at all. Thank you for a high quality experience!"
