Alaska Childcare Training Requirements
All Care Courses are accepted by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Child Care Program Office and by the Municipality of Anchorage. Care Courses are accepted for annual training clock hours for administrators, child care associates, employees, student interns, substitute caregivers and part-time caregivers in child care centers, group homes, and child care homes.
Care Courses is a SEED-approved Trainer and Training Organization.

Alaska Health and Safety and Orientation Training Courses
The following courses are approved by the Alaska Child Care Program Office for health and safety training and orientation training requirements.
Emergency Preparedness in Child Care2 clock hours / $18
This course meets the emergency preparedness and response planning for emergencies resulting from natural or human caused events requirement.
Keeping Infants Safe3 clock hours / $25
This course meets the prevention of sudden infant death syndrome and use of safe sleeping practices for children of all ages training requirement.
Managing Health and Safety in Child Care12 clock hours / $52
This course meets the handling and storage of hazardous materials and appropriate disposal of bio-contaminants training requirement.
Medication Procedures in Child Care2 clock hours / $18
This course meets the administration of medication, consistent with the standards for parental consent training requirement.
Safe Baby, Safe Child5 clock hours / $34
This course meets the prevention of shaken baby syndrome, abusive head trauma, and child maltreatment training requirement.
Safe Environments in Child Care5 clock hours / $34
This course meets the building and physical premises safety training requirement.
Sanitation for Disease Prevention5 clock hours / $34
This course meets the prevention and control of infectious diseases training requirement.
Transportation Safety2 clock hours / $18
This course meets the appropriate precautions in transportation of children training requirement.
Understand and Managing Allergies in Child Care1 clock hours / $12
This course meets the prevention and response to emergencies due to food and allergic reactions training requirement.
