South Carolina Childcare Training Requirements:

All Care Courses are accepted by the South Carolina Department of Social Services (SC DSS) for annual clock hour training requirements for early childhood education (ECE) professionals who work in child care centers, group child care homes, family day care homes, and child care centers operated by churches or religious entities providing licensed, faith-based care. This includes training requirements for center directors, center co-directors, administrators, staff, student teachers, student volunteers, teachers/caregivers and operators.

The South Carolina Department of Social Services requires that child care staff complete a portion of their clock hours of child care training in specific topic areas. Click to view Care Courses listed by South Carolina’s Topic Areas. South Carolina’s Topic Areas will appear on your Care Courses certificates.

All Care Courses are approved by the SC Endeavors Registry towards SC DSS credit hours. For SC Endeavors Registry credit, please add your South Carolina Registry ID number to your Care Courses account.

SC Endeavors has replaced the Center for Child Care Career Development (CCCCD).

What South Carolina Students say:

"I greatly appreciate Care Courses [Creating Schedules and Routines, Sanitation for Disease Prevention and Infants in Child Care]. The subjects you offer are very diverse. I need that. My county does not offer a wide selection of classes. Most of the classes are repeats from the year before. Plus most of the information they teach in the classes I have had in college. So once again it's just a repeat of what I have had in past years. I very seldom learn any thing new. But, with your courses I learn all kinds of new and interesting information. Your courses take a different, more in-depth approach into child care. I like that a lot. Once again thank you for having your courses available to us."

“Care courses just arrived yesterday. We are thankful for this service you provide and the flexibility it allows in getting training hours completed. Thank you!”
