After completing Understanding Social-Emotional Development in Young Children you will be able to identify stages of social-emotional development in young children; explain factors that influence children’s skills for interacting with others, and that support their learning and sense of self; describe how children’s early experiences and positive relationships in a child care setting at home and affect development; and discuss ways that your behaviors, attitudes, and positive interactions can promote children’s healthy social-emotional development and positive behavior.
